Planning permission

Hi,

Just need to ask that we are planning to have extension in our house and wants to have it exactly in same manner as our neighbours have done. What I need to know is that can we use our neighbour's drawings for planning application to the council so that we avoid this expense? Or do you suggest that it's better ro have our own planning done by an architect?

Thank you in advance.

You need to talk to your neighbours if they have paid for plans they are unlikely to want you to use them for free.

You need to ask permission and possibly pay their architect a fee.

Their house might be slightly different in measurements. (my neighbour's house is 1ft bigger than mine. You could draw it yourself. Honestly it's not hard. I drew ours and it was passed ok. I just did a scale drawing.

The architect owns the copyright to the plans, so you can’t just use them without permission.
