Thoughts on Cheam, please?

We’re a couple in our thirties, expecting our first DC? and looking to move from central London to the suburbs. Usual reasons: more space, garden, nicer for kids, etc. Budget of circa £700K.

We have settled on Cheam, as it appears to tick all of our boxes. Plus, great schools. Have found a house we love. Was wondering if anyone that lived there or knew the area might give their opinion? Particularly about the Chatsworth road area.

Also, we’re an interracial couple (Black + White), so if any Black MNers could share their experiences of living around there, that would be especially helpful.

My Sister lives about ten minutes walk away from Chatsworth Road, the other side of Church Hill Road and whilst the schools are good - both of her DC have places at good Grammars (Non Such Girls and Wilsons), and non such park is nice, - personally I think it’s pretty boring and suburban - for £700k could you look closer to Worcester Park? New Malden?

We’re moving from Camden, so pretty much everything is going to feel VERY suburban in comparison. I’ve sort of made my peace with that. 😂

I will check out Worcester Park, though. Thank you.
