Flip / swivel plug stuck - help?

Bathroom waste seems to be thoroughly jammed. Not really sure how, was cleaning the plug last night and it got stuck. Have tried hot water, WD40, plunger (doesn’t work as no air coming through because of how jammed it is).

Is it possible to get at these from underneath? Failing that, is it easy to install a new one?

We have these plugs and they're a nuisance. Usually jam when a bit of grit or sand gets stuck in there. Doesn't like exfoliate at all!

Our fix is towel on the plug to protect it, then get a screwdriver and give it a good hit on the edge. Always does the trick for us. Good luck!

'Flip / swivel plug stuck'
'What a picture!'

Wasn't that a song by Tommy Steele in the musical Half a Sixpence?

Thanks @Ramdogs! shortly after I posted this my boyfriend proudly emerged saying he’d fixed it with “two direct hits from the hammer”. It is now slightly damaged but I’m trying not to care 😆
