Acrylic free-standing bath

Anyone got one? I've been hoping to have a free-standing bath in my new bathroom but cast iron is going to be too heavy and our builder suggested acrylic.

Just wondered how you found it? Thanks.

I have one - rather reluctantly as it replaced a genuine Victorian claw foot tub.

It's actually OK - nice and rigid so it doesn't flex like the cheap plastic ones and also it doesn't suck the heat out of the water like the old cast iron one did which is a bonus. I wasn't keen on the garish silver feet but I've painted them black like the old one had.

We have just had one fitted and I love it. Was really worried about buying online and not being able to try it out but it is really comfy.

@SalviaDivinorum and @Geneticsbunny which bath did you buy? I've been looking at free standing acrylic baths too, but some of the reviews have said they're less spacious and comfortable than an inset bath. I'm limited to 170cm length, and many seem to be larger (or significantly smaller).

If you are limited on space then I would get a fitted one or it will be a huge pain to clean round. If you are set on a free standing then a friend of mine has a tubby tub, which you sit upright in and she thinks it is brilliant.

Our freestanding one is this one https://www.vip-bathrooms.com/Baths/Traditional_Freestanding_Baths/Boat%20Traditional%20Freestanding%20Bateau%20Double%20Ended%20Bath/mobile.html

But I did a Google image search and found it much cheaper somewhere else.

Only £999.99! | Boat Traditional Freestanding Bateau Double Ended Bath

With a generous water capacity and excellent heat retention, the Options Freestanding Bath is the perfect place to unwind.

Yes, I can see how cleaning might be a problem. I've found some "back to wall" freestanding baths that might be a good compromise though.
