Laminate through house what on stairs?

We'd like to get rid of all our carpets and replace with laminate through the house. If you've done this, what have you done with your stairs (if you have them)?

House is three floor new ish build (14 years old) so it has two flights of stairs. Whole house is currently carpeted throughout (cream carpets!!) and want to get rid of the lot but not sure about laminate stairs cos lots of stomping (two big teenagers).

Thanks for any tips or help!

A runner. I'd be scared of slipping on wooden stairs.

Just watch out for the sound that laminate throughout a house makes, hideous noise.
