Thinking of moving to Oxton The Wirral but don't know the area well. What's it like?

Hi, I live in bromborough and I would say Oxton is a nice area. Everyone I know in Oxton is nice and speaks highly of the area. The one thing is that Oxton is near to Birkenhead, a very rough area. So just avoid the north end of Birkenhead Birkenhead park and Birkenhead town centre. Just go over to Liverpool for shopping and bear in mind you have to pay for the Mersey tunnel.

I live close to Oxton, about a mile away from the actual village. It’s a lovely place so I’d recommend it without hesitation ( I agree with the previous poster’s comment about avoiding Birkenhead)
Have you seen properties in particular roads that you’re interested in? I will be happy to give a thumbs up or down if you’d like.

I work in an estate agent and we market a lot of Oxton properties.

Some of my family grew up in Oxton. It seemed lovely when we visited, but obviously other bits of Birkenhead are not as nice. West Kirby and Hoylake are similarly nice.

I live in Oxton, you would want a property with parking if you're anywhere near the village. Its busy, especially at the weekends! Great selection of pubs, restaurants and cafes, a park close by and easy access to Liverpool and Manchester. Yes, its close to Birkenhead and the town centre is not great (not sure many town centres are now) and you have plenty of alternative options, Bromborough retail park and Cheshire Oaks are a short drive away if you don't want to go to Liverpool. We have a christmas lights switch on event and the secret gardens event in the summer. Huge variety in properties, decent local schools and our local councillors are very active in the community.
Any questions, feel free to PM me!
