Living in Coombe

We are trying to find the best area to buy a house and while Hampstead/Highgate is too expensive and too posh, we discovered Kingston Coombe area quite similar but houses much cheaper. However we know nothing about Coombe. It’s green, but there are no shops, cafes, just houses.
Does anyone have experience in living in Coombe?

Whilst I have no experience of living there, I’m very familiar with where it is.
Your shops and amenities are New Malden and Kingston.

What about Wimbledon Village as an alternative?

coombe is nice. what's your budget? @friendlycat is correct, near good schools too or it was. Had school friends from there.

I grew up near there, in New Malden and school in Wimbledon. It is nice there, or was, but I haven't been there for nigh on 30 years now. I gather NM has changed quite a lot, but I know there's still good and varied shopping there, so if there's nothing around Coombe NM is where you'll go. Wim is also good.
