Cost of readvertising a sale

I am trying to help my brother sell his flat. It has been dragging on with the current purchaser for months and months and I was thinking it might be worth cutting our loses and readvertising. Does anyone know how much this would cost him ? I assume the conveyancing solicitor will need to be paid for the work they have already done. Normally they would get paid out of the proceeds of the sale and he doesn't have any spare money at all.

He needs to ask the solicitor for the costs to date. It's impossible for anyone else to say. He's likely to have incurred search fees etc as well as the solicitor's time.

WednesdaysPlaits Yes, sorry. I didn't mean the exact amount. I meant more will he have to fork out cash in order to readvertise? Because if so, he can't readvertise. He is the person selling so I don't think he paus for searches does he?

If he keeps with the same solicitor then they should continue to work on his behalf with a new buyer and costs will be deducted from the eventual sale proceeds. Some of the costs will be additional but there should be some costs that will not be re incurred.
Check the contract with the estate agent too, if you pull out and switch agents I suspect there will be some penalty.

Karmatime Thank you very much. It didn't occur to me that the estate agent could charge a penalty!
