Ceiling Crack

Hello,

I’ve just noticed a crack in bedroom ceiling which goes through to the hallway. Hallway was nearly plaster boarded and plastered about a year ago. My dad is going to fill and paint on Saturday.
Should we do anything differently?! I’m a worrier so don’t want to do the wrong thing. TIA!

as it’s straight, it just looks like where the plasterboard is joined. The little one by the loft hatch is quite common and usually caused by opening the loft hatch a causing movement in the plaster. We have this and have had it in other houses. Filling with decorators caulk and repainting often solves it.
