Choice of estate agents

Hi there
Is there any advantage to sell through the same agent as a potential purchase? We have seen a house we like on with one of the main estate agents in town.

We are going to talk to them about valuing our house and potentially getting them to sell our house. I am assuming there might be an advantage to this if we buy this house? But I'm not sure what that would be, as never bought/sold before. And if I ask them they will obviously try to convince us there is , but not sure if it's true. They may have a higher % rate than others but this is ok if it might make the sale easier.

Yes, in that estate agents do a bunch of work behind the scenes to talk to the other agents in the chain and chivvy along the process - easier if they’re in the same office.

Even if it might be a different branch of the same estate agents?

Question- if you have never brought or sold before - how did you fund the purchase of the house you’re wanting to sell right now?

I think the OP means they have not bought and sold at the same time (ie last time they were a FTB, or when they have sold, they went into rental, etc)

I think there is a small advantage as it may be easier for communication purposes. But I would still get at least one other agent round to discuss a valuation & marketing strategy.

Yes I did mean buying and selling at the same time. We were first time buyers from a builder.

We have an evaluation booked in next week so time to get house in order. I will probably get a few quotes as recommended
