Millboard decking

Anyone got this? I’ve been looking at Trex but the price per board is now the same as Millboard - but I know Millboard is super expensive - is the extra cost for Millboard due to the support system does anyone know?

I have found mixed reviews as well - anyone got it and likes/dislikes it?

I’m looking at the colour driftwood, it would go under a pergola. It’s very shady with trees so I don’t want sandstone which would mark. Currently have a very rotten wood deck. Gets strong sun late afternoon.

It’s a 20sqm area so not big with a few steps, I’ve got some Trex samples but I’m not mad keen as it does look plastic/fake. Thinking of saving longer and just getting the millboard which I like a lot more as I prefer the rustic look.

I've got millboard. Decided against after initial quote was so high but after another year went by we hadn't seen anything that looked as nice so we went for it. Had it a couple of years now and it looks as new. It's absolutely beautiful. We know 3 other people who've put it in after seeing ours. The framework etc takes a long time to install so much of the cost is from using the qualified fitters to do that. But we know someone who installed his own with no prior experience and it looks good so I'd say if you're an experienced diy person that's an option and will save you lots. I'm a big fan of millboard though, it's something people always comment on when they see ours, it transformed the garden and looks much more expensive than wooden decking.

@DalmationCalledStripe thank you this is how I’m feeling , I’ve had quotes for Trex (and then realised the pergalo needed rebuilding - so had to save more). I just can’t get excited about Trex though and I absolutely love the look of the driftwood millboard. I’m going to save even longer and then get some more quotes. It’s such a small space it’s not that extravagant - and this is definitely my forever house , so I want to be pleased with what I do. Good to know you’re still happy with it !
