Shower cabins - Does anyone have one and what do you think?

We have recently had to change out our ensuite shower (bad builder tiling onto plaster board and leaking), with the cost of new tray, shower doors, tile backer board, tiles, adhesive and trim it has cost over 1000 pounds. That's without plumber costs.

We now have the same problem with our bathroom and just wondered if it would be more cost effective to install a shower cubical. Has anyone decided to do this as alternative and what has your experience been?

Many thanks

Don't. They are awful and an expensive nightmare if the plumbing starts leaking

We have a shower pod/cabinet for 4/5 years fabulous, previously leaking shower tray for many years. May be difficult to work at, no experience
