Developer vendor - considerations?

Anyone have experience of buying a period renovation property where the vendor is a developer rather than the householder?

I guess I’m looking for advice on how questions we need to be asking about the building itself, and price negotiation, might be different from the usual householder vendor situation?

Grateful for any thoughts as neither we nor friends/family have experience, personal or professional.

I assume it isn't listed?
I would watch out for damp issues because unless you live in a property it can be very difficult to fix issues with damp properly. it often needs lots of things eliminating in turn to see if they have worked , and the developers won't have had time to do this and so are likely to have just tanked anything which is damp. Obviously this is a generalisation and some developers are good with damp issues. Other than that, check that the roof is insulated. Can't think of anything else at the moment.
