Hi, we are looking for properties close to London. Any experience about living in Blackheath? There are properties in Dursley Road which the price is more affordable. I need to go to the office in Liverpool Street and that in Wimbledon once a week.

Sorry OP, but that’s not really Blackheath.
that area is a bit of a long way from stations too, not great for a commute to Liverpool St.

That would be very difficult to commute to Wimbledon!

I think that area is probably called Kidbrooke rather than Blackheath - I do have friends who live just other side of the A2, there were able to buy a lovely big house with huge garden because they compromised on the road noise from the A2 and they are big walkers - prepared to walk a long way to get to the station, and only one of them works so they don’t have to hustle kids out of the house around a commute - I wouldn’t want to live on Dursley Road, probably about a 20 min walk to Kidbrooke station and a pain to get to Wimbledon.

would you think of living closer to Wimbledon? Somewhere like New Malden or Motspur Park might work?

Just to say I lived I Blackheath for a while - near Westcombe Park / Blackheath Standard and I loved it - micro location quite important though

Agree that its technically not Blackheath and train station is a bit far BUT you would then have a quick bus to North Greenwich/O2 on your doorstep and then commute via underground is a breeze.
