I think we've finally accepted that our extension most likely isn't going to happen anytime soon, so we're looking at doing some of the smaller building jobs ourselves (either literally or contracting them out piece by piece). We're also starting to think that maybe the extension isn't going to be worth it anyway, which means that we'll need to change the building warrant before we can get sign off.
Up until now our architect has dealt with all planning permission and building warrant stuff, but lately they also appear to have lost interest in the project. So we'd like to take over his role and project manage, and liaise with building control and planning ourselves.
I've been trying to get in touch with building control already with a small query but haven't heard back (only been a couple of days!). And with the architect not being particularly forthcoming with advice anymore, I'm worried that there's no one willing to guide a novice through the various hoops I may get stuck in!
Has anyone done this or can give any advice or tips on how to proceed? I'm in Scotland if that makes a difference :)
