How to ensure a good blend when repainting a small patch.

So our ceiling was painted about 18 months ago and we've just had a light moved which has left a 2cm hole and two tiny screw holes. I've got the same paint that was used on the ceiling, are there any tricks for blending the paint if I just paint this small area?

I'm really trying to avoid painting the whole ceiling as it's a large room with fairly high ceilings but obviously I don't want a random patch on the ceiling that looks different. I'm going to give it a bash anyway as worse case I'll need to do the whole thing anyway but if I could get away just doing the patch it would make me happy!
