And also how much it cost.

Looking for inspo and a potential ballpark figure for my L shape 2.3m x 2.4m kitchen

we just ordered ours yesterday, fingers crossed should be installed by mid April. It's also an L-shape 3.5 x 1.8 So nervous having planned it myself and paying for it without even going to the showroom...might be a disaster in the end there are thousands of pics and videos on instagram, just # diykitchens or search diykitchens + name of the kitchen type

Namechangedforthisonetoday · 20/02/2023 20:16

Watching this one carefully. I’m thinking of going for the helmsley in mussel, how about you op?

shell856 · 20/02/2023 20:32

When I was choosing my DIY kitchen I watched their 60 second showcase videos on you tube

daisychain237 · 20/02/2023 21:27

@Namechangedforthisonetoday there are quite a few shaker styles I have my eye on, however not decided yet!

@tallrectangle ooh good luck! I am also not planning to make the trip to the showroom as it's so far from when I live. How much are you paying for the installation if you don't mind me asking? Just curious.

@shell856 Ooh thanks for that tip, will watch those!

We have a mussel DIY kitchen. It's lush. Been in 7 years and still looks great.

StatisticallyChallenged · 20/02/2023 21:41

I'm currently planning ours but have had one before, plus designed one for MIL and her utility room too. All been great so happy to go for it again.

Mrsladybirdface · 20/02/2023 22:12

There is a great Facebook page with loads of their kitchens in. We've had ours in for nearly 4 years and it has been great🙂

tallrectangle · 20/02/2023 23:54

@daisychain237 we are in the process of getting the quotes. We've had anything from £850 to £2K for fitting units only. The worktop, old kitchen removal, electrics and plastering (stone) is being done by someone else. Plastering £750, electrics £350, kitchen removal (did ourselves), new radiator and it's fitting circa £250. We will try to fit floors ourselves (click laminate). So, labour wise probably £2.5K plus kitchen £7K, plus lots of other materials i.e. paint, skirting boards, new sockets and lights. Total probably 11K...Ouch..

tallrectangle · 20/02/2023 23:59

DIY kitchens were hard to beat, we went for a silestone worktop + solid timber units and managed to squeeze into 7K(10 units including oven, washing machine, dishwasher, belfast sink, induction hob). Exactly same size kitchen but with mdf units and a laminate worktop came to 9.5K at Wrens 🤐

SchittOnIt · 21/02/2023 06:36

We got a DIY kitchen last year and I absolutely love it. We had so many crap designs done by the the various high-street kitchen brands, so it was amazing to design it exactly how I wanted it. The quality of the units are fantastic and my builder has since been recommending them to all his customers. We went for the Stanbury in a bespoke farrow and hall colour and we are so pleased with it. We did have a bit of a miscommunication with them about delivery dates, but they did get it resolved. We didn’t get our worktop through them - we got that from Gemini who were also fantastic

SchittOnIt · 21/02/2023 06:39

Also meant to say that we marked out the kitchen design on the floor with masking tape before the final order which really helped - I realised I’d made the peninsula too long to easily walk around the end of it, so we took a unit off and it’s now perfect.

This is ours. Around £6k excluding work tops and appliances. Equivalent was £10k at Howdens. Fitting on top.

There's an extra larger unit on the far left that not visible in the photo.

Pootles34 · 21/02/2023 12:51

We're delighted with ours - really good quality. Our fitter was very pleased too. Only thing to note, when it arrives, make sure you have lots of room! As they arrive pre-assembled rather than flat pack, they do take up a hell of a lot of space.

Isseywith3witchycats · 21/02/2023 16:45

pompomdaisy · 21/02/2023 18:37

Not happy with a few things but none of that is due to diy kitchens. Just the idiot I got to fit it!
