External wooden glazed door

I need to buy a replacement door for the porch. I've looked on B&q and Wickes both of whom have suitable doors for £150 but the reviews are bad saying that they warped, fell apart etc within a few years.

Do I need to spend a bit more?

Would oak be better? I was looking at pine because I plan on painting it.

Any recommendations?

A cheap door will end up an expensive door.
Do you really need wood if you are going to paint it?

Unfortunately where it's going it does need to be wood. It's replacing a wood door in a wooden porch. I certainly can't afford composite.

You need a hardwood door.
