Curtains for bay window

Have just finished plastering and decorating the living room in my new house. We are ready to choose curtains for a big box bay window but DH and I can't agree on the length. With it being a big window I feel floor length curtains would look better. DH feels below window sill length will look neater and not get in the way so much.
It's going to be an expensive purchase so we want to get it right.
The previous owners had a radiator under window so had window sill length curtains but we have moved the radiator to another wall so that's not an issue.
What did you do with your bay windows? What is the norm? Please share your wisdom.

As a curtain maker full length always! 2/3 pinch pleat and interlined, will look fantastic.

Or Roman blinds if you don't want the bulk of curtains.

Cill length curtains look awful and a bit cheap.

I'd go floor length if they're not blocking a radiator. Bear in mind if they are very full they will possibly block most of the side windows when not drawn

Are you planning to put any furniture/storage in the bay? That's the only other reason to go for sill length curtains.

Echoing what PP have said - plus your DH may have been used to sill length curtains, but they’re considered really old fashioned now.

Oh I love being right😂😂
We initially had been looking for Roman blinds but the angle of the windows and the size of the recess to attach the blinds meant the only thing that would fit were the thinnest Venetians, and they aren't to my taste.
Unfortunately we will lose light at the sides of the window but it's big and drafty so definitely need something substantial.

We have a similar arrangement, when that room is done I'll be looking for rails that will curve round onto the walls at the sides to maximise the light. And for me, it's floor length if no rads in the way- there was a rad there, but previous owners moved it. As the cill is low, a rad there would never be enough for thew room size, so no point moving one back.
Just make sure your rail can take the weight of the fabric you choose- full length velvet + lined, for example, can be quite a weight if it is a high window.
In our previous house we had a flat window, though large, with a rad under it, so we had shorter curtains. It never really looked right to me.

100% floor length.
