Shower ideas without head height

We’re renovating a bathroom. Our cottage is very old with low ceilings- about 6’6” in the bathroom. It’s fine for a bath but I don’t see how we can fit a proper shower, especially as DH is very tall. We won’t fit underneath!

So I’m thinking of a wall-mounted shower over the bath plus a screen- so you could stand in the spray although it won’t be coming down on you from above, then use it hand-held for hair etc.

DH is a bit disappointed as he loves a proper shower. Just wondering if we’re missing anything and whether there’s a better way to approximate a shower? We can’t alter the ceiling or floor height as it’s listed.

You can get shower heads which fit recessed into the ceiling which might buy you a bit more room?

I don't find a ceiling-mounted drencher head very convenient.

If you are standing in the bath your height will be raised a few inches above the floor.

The shower trays are very low profile now, can you not fit one to the floor - literally an inch off the ground - the waste needs to be under the floorboards and then have the shower arm as high as possible from the wall? If you're talking about standing in a bath it will be less space than that!

I understand your pain on this one OP, DH is 6 foot 7. We just went for mounting as high as we could with a waterfall head and he has to duck slightly if he wants the full waterfall effect going on.

Very low profile shower tray like someone mentioned would be my other idea.

As other posters have indicated... Get a ceiling fitted shower head

You can get posh showers with sprays at the side (body sprays?) And ceiling recessed shower heads waterfall style

Could you fit a wet room tray , i.e. same level as the floor, to get more height? With a ceiling flush waterfall head? That would give you maximum height.
