How long for title deeds

For people who purchased last year how long did it take to receive title deeds or confirmation?

When did you complete?
Was the property registered or unregistered?

A lot will depend on whether it's a new title application (you'll wait ages) or a straight forward transfer in form TR1 (maybe 3/4 months).

We completed at the end of July and have still not received our deeds.
I have asked our solicitor and the Land Registry online and both just said there is a backlog and it is slow

We are waiting for deeds on a property we inherited from my Dad, and have been told that we could be waiting up to 12 months...

pilates · 14/02/2023 05:57

It sounds like it could be a first registration? If so, they can take up to a year.

We completed in November 21 and still have nothing! We've just emailed the surveyor who did it for us and we're waiting on him chasing it up.

We completed in summer 2022. We've received confirmation we are on the deeds (also checked they were updated via land registry etc) but physical deeds/access to online deeds remains with your mortgage lender until you've paid off your mortgage.

We moved into a new build in Nov 20 and still waiting! I keep chasing but there is a massive back log where we are.

I completed in June 2022, no mortgage so hasn’t gone to the lender, my solicitor did say at time of completion there was a backlog but I never realised it was quite so big

That is a really long time!

We've been waiting a year so far (new registration).

starlingsintheslipstream · 14/02/2023 07:44

I know it's annoying but, in essence, as long as your application is with HM Land Registry and your conveyancer responds to any queries when it does get looked at, it doesn't really have much impact. The problem comes if you are looking to remortgage or sell but they will usually move applications along quicker if that is the case.

Thewayshetalks · 14/02/2023 08:00

After a bit of googling I’ve realised it’s not a huge deal, my solicitor confirmed he had put the application in and we are not selling anytime soon, this is my first house purchase so was a bit unsure how that side of things work
