Apartment living with children?

I’m looking at moving my child to a private Steiner school in a city, which would mean downsizing to an apartment. We currently have a two bed house with small garden. I’m looking for opinions and advice on space saving apartment living with a young child!

apartment living with a child is absolutely fine. lots of storage and not too many toys.

on the other hand, Steiner schools are NOT fine. I realise this is not what you've asked, but do search the previous Mumsnet thread on Steiner schools because there are a lot of reasons to avoid them.

Look for an apartment with garden or balcony
Furnuture that folds or converts like wall beds
