Everyone these days seems to have the wood beam mantle but we have an external chimney breast so no alcoves, and this won't work. We are really torn between keeping the arch or going for a slate or marble fire surround with log burner - thinking of building symmetrical alcove style cupboards either side...
Anyone ever had a similar style conundrum? Thank you in advance
