What colour should we paint the house trim?

Pie house had been renovated. We have renders and put in new windows and doors. The trim round the bottoms of the house needs to be painted with masonry paint. We just can't decide which colour. Here is a picture of the the colour pots I bought today you can see the render and a door in the picture to give you an idea of them. We have discounted the middle one so olive or grey?

It's a bit difficult without seeing more of the wall/building but I would go olive

CoconutJamSpongeAndPinkCustard · 09/02/2023 16:42

What kind of house is it? What colour are the window frames?

Auldandknackered · 09/02/2023 16:43

Not grey, whatever you do. Not grey

Grey is fine for a bit of trim 😂 It doesn't mean she's going to paint the whole interior 50 shades of it!

Olive is a lot more cheerful

Wonderfulbutwornout · 09/02/2023 17:18

Grey. Purely because others will get dirty when it rains and splashes it.
I’d prefer the olive over grey though .

You can see the render and the window and door colour on the photo. I will post another photo showing the whole house. It's only the bottom bit that needs painting.

troppibambini6 · 09/02/2023 17:33

Olive is really nice sorry not really keen on the others.

CellophaneFlower · 09/02/2023 19:11

Can't you get a paint the same colour as the door/windows?

CoconutJamSpongeAndPinkCustard · 09/02/2023 19:57

Either the same sandy colour as the window surrounds or the same sagey green as the door and window frames.

The olive is the wrong shade of green and will look odd and the grey is miserable.

Failing that, just do it white to match the rest of the house.

Yes we can but i think it might look too twee. a bit too mint/vanilla ice cream. It would also get dirty very easily. We are absolutely not doing other same colour as the house for that very reason.

The same colour as the window surrounds if you can match it up.

CellophaneFlower · 09/02/2023 20:16

I had actually missed the first pics. I'd also go for the darker colour of window surrounds if it's possible. It looks a similar colour to edge of roof? Would tie it all together nicely imo.

The dirty stone colour? That's not happening! We looked at stone colours and they were too drab.

😂yeah… but a clean version, maybe a shade or two different but in the same tone if you see what I mean. I think it will link them nicely. Promise.
