Help with boiler location in kitchen!

Decision about boiler!

we need to move our boiler from the bedroom to the kitchen, the question came up on where to put this in the kitchen. We have a choice between the wall unit on the same row as the hob and extractor fab or hidden within a tall cabinet unit (2m tall) as both can be easily piped out..

boiler in question is about 80cm high and 45cm deep.

with the tall cabinet unit - this was essentially our pantry and will eat into the space. With the wall unit, after putting the boiler there , we don’t have any wall unit space in that row above the hob as the remainder will be shelves. So there are pros and cons for each.

does anyone have any experience of housing the boiler in either?

also if we do put this in the wall units, is there a certain depth that’s required? I want the wall units all flushed and not one deeper than the other, if that make sense

thank you for your help!

both sound fine and it seems like the only impact would be on storage space. So maybe go for the option that doesn't ruin your pantry?

Does it absolutely have to go in the kitchen? Think outside the box: loft, attached garage, cupboard under the stairs....

Ours is housed in a wall cupboard and the only issue we’ve had is that the trim above the cupboards has to be unscrewed in order to get the front off the boiler for servicing. If you go for this option, check the size / height of your boiler.

You need to think about gas supply and position of the flue. A qualified gas engineer will be able to advise you where it will fit. There are all sorts of rules depending on the manufacturer.

@CasperGutman we are only in a flat so unfortunately don’t have any of the mentioned spaces!
