Nice areas of Chippenham

Hello! My family and I are looking to move this year and Chippenham seems to be our best location. I work in Bristol and my partner works in Bath, so it’s a good distance from both our works. We were wondering what the best/nicest areas of Chippenham are? Just somewhere we can walk our dog at night and feel safe!
We currently live in South Wiltshire in the country side so have been spoilt with vast fields to walk in and great views but we know we need to live somewhere with a bit more going on and with shops in walking distance. We have visited Chippenham however we want to know the areas to avoid and the areas to be house hunting! Thank you for any info you can provide!

Hello, we moved to Chippenham from London a few years ago. It's a nice town with a sense of community and easy access to the town as well as great transport links into London/Bath/Bristol. The walks from the town are really wonderful. From Chippenham you can walk (mainly) off-road (or along tiny roads) as far as Marlborough via Avebury stone circle. The walks to Lacock along the canal and river are equally as lovely. There are many more fabulous walks too. The town itself is very safe and there are 2 lovely parks, John Coles or Monkton Park (my personal favourite) where evening walks are safe and enjoyable. It's a small town so easy to walk to the high street where there are coffee shops, Waterstones, a Waitrose etc. I would suggest looking around Monkton Park, Pewsham or alternatively the old part of Chippenham (St Marys Street or The Butts). Good luck with your move, I hope it goes well!

Have you looked at Corsham? As it's a nicer town with good amenities, Chippenham to me seems very run down and depressing
