Hi

If you've put an offer in on a house that's been accepted. Seller is yet to put offer on somewhere...

How long would you expect to wait before things get moving?

Is it how long is a piece of string or?

We waited 6 months with one house. It was very annoying.

I think it is, I'm about to put my house on the market, we'll start viewing at that point but won't of course be able to proceed until I get an offer, if that happens quickly the buyer could be hanging around a while until we get to the same stage.

Depends on your seller. We put our house on the market after we saw one we really liked. Then it took weeks just to get a viewing of it. Then we accepted an offer on our house shortly after seeing the house we wanted and put an offer in the same day. After days in limbo, they agreed a price. Then it turned out they couldn't sell it until next year anyway. By that point I had my heart set on moving and had found something else I liked. It took me just over a week to persuade DH to give up on the original house and get an offer on the new place.

It's all down to the seller, even if they're really keen to move, they may be looking in an area where the kind of house they need don't come up often. They may be fussy. They may only sell if the perfect house comes along. So yes, piece of string.

You may be able to gauge what category they fall into a bit further along. Just don't stop looking in the meantime or imagine this house as your home yet.

Good luck!
