Kitchen face-lift: help needed

I am so rubbish at interiors, I need help!
Putting off getting à New kitchen as long as possible but would like some new tiles and drawer handles to jazz up our very meh design. Ideally I would go Green tiles and gold/brass handles but I think the grey work top is not going to look right with green. Any ideas on what will work with the grey?

Would like some cool new pendant lights too.

The pics are from rightmove when we bought à few years ago. It's much shabbier now.

I’d be tempted to replace the tiles and current stainless steel with one long acrylic splash back

With the disruption, I’d get it all done if finances allow. I agree, there’s nothing here I’d like to save, but if it all works I’d live with it for a bit until you know what you’d like - I’d move the island, looks very tight!

Thank you! That's a good option that was totally on my radar.

Can I go gold or brass handles with grey? Maybe copper would look better. I suck at this.

Totally NOT on my radar, rather...

Not brass or gold as your metalwork on the cooker and hood is steel and everything else is very grey. You could go black or grey handles? Trouble is the worktops and top cupboards are so dark that they will overpower anything you do.

We did it in our last kitchen and it looked great and was so much easier to keep clean. No idea why my pasta sauces travel so far when they bubble and splash!

I’d probably go with black handles to keep things tied together and then get pendants in a similar shade to your new tiles/splash back.

it’s tricky revamping a kitchen you don’t like and i would caution against spending too much money on it if you’re overall to still going to feel a bit meh about the kitchen itself!
