Surveying company recommending level 3 full building survey rather than a Homebuyers Report on 12 year old house because it is large?

We booked online with a reputable and well-known company for a level 2 Homebuyers Report on the property we are buying. It is a 12 year old 5 bed detached house. Our buyer booked a Homebuyers Report on ours which is 90 years old. Another surveyor I spoke to said it was unnecessary to have a level 3 survey on a 12 year old house and that these are really meant for older properties or those with suspected problems. I suspected they were trying to upsell but when I asked what the price would be for the full survey they said they do not offer these, but could possibly transfer the job to another company. We have paid online already and it is a nationwide well known chain. He said from a liability point of view if something went wrong there is more to check in a larger house and a court could feel that we should have paid for the higher level survey. I'm confused as to what we should do! I thought it was just age which was an important factor rather than the size. Obviously there is quite a big difference in price.
