Wood burner, bioethanol or Optimyst?

We have an "empty" fireplace in the new house we bought & I'm not sure what to do with it. I thought some kind of stove to fit in the gap but I know there is air pollution issues with a wood burner. The house is pretty warm as it is.

Wood burner.

You may need it at some point.

Multi fuel burner - no a wood burner. Then you have the option of wood or smokeless ovals / coal / anthracite depending on local rules which also may change In the future.

I’d choose woodburner but as well as the air pollution (not the main issue for me) there’s the mess and dust and hassle of the logs, storage, cleaning out etc
If you’ve got a healthy budget the everhot ones are really nice, all electric and silent.

I'm in a built up area & I do worry about more changes

Which is good reason to go for the multi fuel stove - more flexibility.
