Best beige paint for north facing

User19300 · 27/01/2023 19:54

This is for a living room that gets virtually no natural sunlight (north facing) but I don't want to paint white. I loved Clay mid (Little Greene) in store but a tester pot appears too cold and a bit grey on the wall. I want warmth and not magnolia. Joas white farrow and ball is a bit too dark. Any ideas?

Something with pink tones. F&B White Tie or New White. I know they’re called white but they’re really not!

Powder and Stone ranges by Paint & Paper Library also worth a look

Wickes own brand in Calico.

It really is a gorgeous colour, and adds warmth to my very dark north facing front room.

Wilkos on deck is so beautiful.Have it in 4 different rooms. Including a downstairs toilet that has no window. X

Look at the dulux light and space range, it really does make a difference.

F&B Dimity?

I have Little Greene's Mushroom in my North facing lounge. It's lovely and warm and not too dark.

Dulux Egyptian cotton. Recommend a tester as it looks completely different in different lights.

Our dining room is North facing, we painted it in Dulux Morning Mist. It is a lovely warm whitish shade.
it’s worth bearing in mind that the beige spectrum of colours absorb light, so don’t go too dark.

Have a look at the new F&B colour Stirabout, it's lovely.

We have cancun by b&q in our north facing living room. It's a beautiful neutral colour!

Gloriousgardener11 · 28/01/2023 16:41

Dulux 'Just Walnut ' is also a good warm shade.

We have dulux natural hessian in our north facing living room. It looks different in different lights but is a nice and understated sort of light beige. Very inoffensive!

queenofthewild · 28/01/2023 18:06

Dulux Gentle Fawn has a hint of pink to it. It's a lovely warm cosy beige.

We have a north-facing living room and I painted it Jonquil at a 40% shade by Edward Bulmer. This is technically a 'pink'. It mostly neutralises out with the colder light, somehow the pink + the north light. Inoffensive and not cold. Could try a sample and see if you like it.

Also seconding Dulux Natural Calico - such a useful go-anywhere neutral colour.
