Is this what a new heating system costs?!

Based in Newcastle, 3 bed bungalow. I've had 4 quotes to install a new external oil combi and oil tank. Completely new pipework going from the loft chased down into the walls. 3 quotes are at £13,000-£15,000. One was £21,000.

I'm just shocked at the amounts.

Am I asking the wrong people, or does this sound right?! It includes removal of the old tank, and base for the new one.

Sounds about right.

I bought a new gas boiler in 2014 and it was £2k just to fit into the existing plumbing & supply.

A recent quote for a ground source heat pump is £15k-£17k installed.

Sounds right, we had a new combo, two radiators into the loft extension with pipe work etc and it was c15k a few years ago

Do you have to have oil? We switched from oil to gas and installed an outside gas boiler and I’m sure it was much cheaper than that! Of course it depends if you can get gas …!
