Smeg induction not working

Don't know if this is the best place to post, but I have a Smeg induction range cooker bought second hand. Wired it in today and the oven is working fine but the induction hob is flashing with the symbol that means it cannot detect a pan. I have definitely used induction pans and have bought several different kinds but it doesn't work with any. Has anyone had experience of this?

I have a Smeg induction - are you certain you're using the correct pan? Is it the same for every hob? Have they used the correct (huge) cable to wire it in? Could water have got into the top? Steam etc?

Check if it's wired in correctly they take a lot of power check your RCB supports it, cable size etc.

Thanks for replies. Yeah it's the correct wire we had it upgraded specially. I've tried 3 different brands of induction pan and none seem to be working. There doesn't seem to be much online about error codes, I'm going to call a technician today and hoping it's a relatively easy fix

It may have a child lock. I think it is a L symbol.

I hope you've not been scammed. What reason was given for the sale, or did you buy from a business that provided a guarantee? Did you see it working before you bought it?

Of all of my pre-existing pans, only one didn't work when I changed from gas to induction. (It was an induction-safe Greenpan wok.)

Sadly it's not that, I turned the lock on and off to test and still no luck. It's just the signal that means no pan is detected and it flashes
