Cover panels on an IKEA kitchen?

If I have a white carcass and white vending doors do I need cover panels?

If i remember there are no screws on end panels anyway

Or is there an actual reason for them?

Probably, because the white surface of carcases is often not to the same standard as the doors. Have a careful look at them in the showroom. Sometimes it is a hard matching melamine laminate, but I have seen examples in vinyl coating, which is inferior. There may also be visible screw holes or other fixings in the carcasses especially if they are self-assembly. End decor panels are only needed on the visible ends of a run. They typically match the doors but are flat and often very thick and and heavy. You can also use actual doors if you can buy additional ones at reasonable price.

Thanks

So if its extra wide do I take the side off and use that or just add it on extra (adding to the width)

I wonder if a door might be a thinner option

They are usually screwed to the side. I don't know about Ikea.
