Council property bidding and allocation

Sorry folks. Not sure if I'm posting this in the right place or not. I'm currently in position 2 and 3 on 2 different council properties atm. I was in position 1 up till this afternoon. The bidding closes tomorrow. Will I still be shortlisted and offered the properties or is it only offered to the person in position 1 and then only offered to me if they refuse the offer? Some people say they offer it to the top 4 and then some people say I won't hear anything unless the people above me refuse. I'm gutted though. I've been in position 1 since Friday and really thought I was going to get it. So to be bumped off the top spot less than 24 hours before closing is a wind up. Any information anyone can give me is greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys.

No idea but good luck 🤞 I feel for you. If you don’t get either will that put you back at 1 for the next empty property?

Every area/council is different some councils will get the top 3 people to view the property at the same time so that if number 1 turns it down then number 2 is there to accept it straight away so even if you’re 2nd/3rd you may still be asked to attend a viewing even if the property dosent go to you. With my council the top 3 winners get contacted by email but only the applicant in 1st place gets called for a viewing for the property…the people in 2nd/3rd place get told they’ll only view the property if the applicant(s) above them turns it down. So just because you’re not 1st dosent mean you won’t get it as although it’s unlikely someone above could turn it down you’ll probably at least get emailed about the property to say you’re next in line if the person above dosent want it, fingers crossed.
