sorry but... LOL

EffortlessDesmond · 18/01/2023 15:51

Not my opinion @SD25. Should SD25 have been on the list? I only know one of those, and promise that me moving there would take the shine off!

MaverickGooseGoose · 18/01/2023 18:22

Pet level is one of the shittiest places I have ever been to. It was like the fucking twilight zone.

MyTurkey · 18/01/2023 19:35

Kendal certainly is 'cool'. Blood freezing in fact Grin

MyTurkey · 18/01/2023 19:36

bloody freezing even... although I think my blood did nearly freeze there once!

Leyton? I used to live near there and wouldn’t choose to move back…is it where all the Hackneyites are going now?

ReamsOfCheese · 18/01/2023 20:05

LMAO BT48. Riiiiight. Maybe if the whole of BT had a functioning government allocating its budget to all the right places I'd feel differently but they seem to give up every time there's the wrong kind of clouds in the sky and the people in BT suffer for it.

PenguinTattoo · 18/01/2023 20:09

I can actually see why Pett Level would be seen as "cool". Desolate, big houses and farms, next to a country park, close enough to Rye, Camber Sands and Hastings to enjoy all they have to offer whilst avoiding the grotty day to day life of each. But it's still a no thanks from me.

Probablymagrat · 18/01/2023 20:13

I love Pett Level. I really want to live there, we go at least twice a year. I'm sad its on the list, the prices will go up even more out of my reach.

17Degrees · 18/01/2023 20:14

NE64 Newbiggin by the Sea?!? Whoa, my neck of the woods and if that's up there I can't imagine what the others are like! 🤣

Defiantlynot41 · 18/01/2023 20:35

Leyton is a fucking shithole Confused

Yep, lots of the hipsters have moved over to Leyton now (as Hackney etc got too expensive). There are some pockets of fabulous food and coffee in Leyton now (hidden amongst the fried chicken shops and general meh-ness).

welcoming2023 · 18/01/2023 21:26

Omg E11 Wanstead is much much nicer and cooler is it a typo

HannibalHeyes · 19/01/2023 00:46

Monmouth is surprisingly nice. The rest I'm not so sure about...

alwayscrashinginthesamecar1 · 19/01/2023 00:50

They have to be joking about BT48! My mum lives there and the place is barely functioning!

Greenfairydust · 19/01/2023 01:31

Leyton?

Lived nearby for years and ''cool'' it is not....

Unsafe, grubby and boring.

007DoubleOSeven · 19/01/2023 01:52

Do you think the Times is trying to make fetch happen?

It's full of trendy restaurants and pop up bars now. What I would call 'hipster'.
Fat cat is still there.

Depends so much on priorities! I love the adorable villages of South East Cornwall - close to Plymouth and Exeter for jobs and uni, gorgeous beaches and countryside, excellent schools, range of homes/entertainment/business opportunities... Good value compared with many urban areas. Families, retirees, business start ups, real mixture. I also love East Lothian, parts of the Midlands and North Wales!
