Lease extension

Hi,

We are extending the lease as part of the sale of a flat. Our flat is the bottom of the chain and all the other legal work is done. We are ready to exchange once the lease is done.

We are waiting for the deed of substitution back from our lender.

Then I believe it has to go to land registry. I'm told we can apply for it to be expedited as its delaying the sale.

Our solicitor won't give us any guidance on time frames. Just says she isn't sure how long.

Has anyone been through the process? Any advice on how long it might take? Anything we can do?

Thanks

How far have you got with the lease extension? Has it been done (agreed and funds paid etc.) and its the deed of variation you are waiting on? If so, once your solicitor sends it to the LR you may be able to expedite. LR website has info on expedite timescales.

I think the deed of substitution is a different thing.
