I wouldn't it's a bit out of the way his home

OP posts:
SheilaFentiman · 15/01/2023 23:40

No, ours is better

BrieAndChilli · 15/01/2023 23:42

No as nearest relative has a small 2 bed and we have a bigger 4 bed. Plus they live too far away for school etc.

Saisong · 15/01/2023 23:42

No because she lives in a two bedroom tiny bungalow and we are in a 4 bed family home. What an odd idea!

OrangePomander · 15/01/2023 23:42

No. Their location is better than ours but it’s smaller and hasn’t got enough bedrooms.

FlatPackHarry · 15/01/2023 23:44

No. We live in a nicer area.

Noodlehen · 15/01/2023 23:46

Yes, we live in a small 2 bed apartment in and the closest live in a 2mil plus townhouse

TheFlis12345 · 15/01/2023 23:47

No. Their house is on a vastly nicer street and in better condition but much smaller and has a tiny garden that is very overlooked.

WhenIAmOldIShallWearPurple · 15/01/2023 23:49

Yes definitely, they have a six bed beautiful period property in a stunning location whilst we have a 70's three bed with plumbing issues.

Sprogletsmum2 · 15/01/2023 23:51

Absolutely not, his house is lovely but a teeny tiny new build 2 bed built and suitable for a single person, I couldn't even fit 6 plates on his kitchen counter to feed us all!

Bluebellbike · 15/01/2023 23:52

No. He (my son) lives in a 2 bed new build terrace next to an industrial estate; ten minutes walk from me. I live in a 1 bed bungalow with a nice garden in a lovely quiet cul de sac. I can't manage stairs.

morekidsthanhands · 15/01/2023 23:52

Nope it's my grandparents in a tiny 1 bed bungalow. We have 3 kids and a large dog!

morekidsthanhands · 15/01/2023 23:53

morekidsthanhands · 15/01/2023 23:52

Nope it's my grandparents in a tiny 1 bed bungalow. We have 3 kids and a large dog!

I am actually a little bit annoyed as my parents live 0.1 mile further away and they have a similar sized house to us but in a better location so I would have swapped with them!

Gingerkittykat · 15/01/2023 23:54

My nearest relative lives in the same village.

She lives in a 3 bed house, I live in a 2 bed flat.
I hate her decor.
She is right at the top of the hill, fuel bills are ridiculous plus when it is icy she literally can't get her car down the street and it is also not safe to walk.
The cows from the field next door keep breaking into her garden and she needs the farmer to remove them, the cows sometimes get onto the road and you obviously can't get down the street.
Because of the slope her back garden is unusable but she does have a drive at the front.
I struggle with the stairs because of disability but £50k neabs I could easily put in rails and get a new bathroom.

It's like a goldfish bowl in her street where all the neighbours know and gossip about each other.

I'm staying in my own house!

Rinders · 15/01/2023 23:55

Yes, it’s worth a flipping fortune & has huge potential.

MillicentTrilbyHiggins · 15/01/2023 23:56

Depends. Do I have to take on the mortgage too?
Provided I don't (although it may well be paid off, I'm not sure) then yes. In a heartbeat.
I'm in a 2 bed 1 bath terrace in desperate need of building work.

My nearest relative has a 4 bed 2 bathroom, detached, garage, large garden etc etc.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 15/01/2023 23:57

Yes. It's really not my style of home, but my brother and his wife live in a modern, super clean, large 4 bed detached house. We, however, live in a Georgian semi with a wanker for a neighbour who makes our life a misery. It'll take us years to renovate it enough to sell it on and it costs a fortune to run.
For less stress plus £50k? Of course I'd swap.

HerRoyalNotness · 15/01/2023 23:58

No. That would be in Kent, a tiny 2 bed. There’s 5 of us. Next closest would be my dads house in NZ. We could fit in at a squeeze and it’s on the coast, but it’s a tear down and build new place really. The value is the land and location. No kind where he is though so would mean a commute into the city

HerRoyalNotness · 15/01/2023 23:58

Jobs!

HappyNewYear2023 · 16/01/2023 00:04

Nope. I don't like the house they have, although it's bigger than mine. The rooms are small.

PacificallyRequested · 16/01/2023 00:07

Hell yeah! I'd be swapping a 2 bedroom flat for a 4 bedroom house with a garden, where do I sign?!

Needmorelego · 16/01/2023 00:09

I would love to live in my parents house (my childhood home) but the swap would be cruel for them.
They are elderly with mobility issues.I live in a second floor flat halfway up a steep hill.
So no.

TooBigForMyBoots · 16/01/2023 00:10

In a heartbeat.Grin

I love my neighbourhood and I do love my wee house, but the chance to swap with my folks? It would mean a bedroom for each of the boys and a whole lot more space. So yeah.Grin

LadyOfTheCanyon · 16/01/2023 00:44

God yes. You can keep your £50K as well, I'd be swapping our 3 bed terrace in South London for a £2M Victorian red brick in zone 2 West London.

I would miss our neighbours though, who are lovely.

beepbeepme · 16/01/2023 00:50

Yes, my mum's, it's only half an hour away, part owned instead of rented like mine, closer to boyfriend, bigger town with more shops. Definitely!

whenindoubtgotothelibrary · 16/01/2023 01:37

No, never. They live rurally, miles from public transport or a pint of milk, and it's actually worth far less than mine despite the acre of garden. £50k wouldn't touch the sides. I'll keep my convenient London house thanks!
