Hallway paint - pale, durable and doesn't show every mark

Can anyone recommend a nice light coloured paint that will work in an already dark hallway but good for disguising the usual knocks and marks found with grubby fingered children at home! White paint might be light but looks permanently grubby and is very boring

We've got light gray in sitting room and hallway. Maybe not the most inspiring but with little children it looks good and we can change it once they're older. And we get paint that can be cleaned, makes life so much easier.

We've done light paint at the top and a colour at the bottom with a wallpaper border breaking it up in the middle and also making it much easier to paint.
