Got a white sink from howdens. Rest of kitchen from howdens fine but the sink is trashed. How easy is it yo replace just a sink? The worktop is quartz. And us it a plumber or fitter job?

Depends how it is fixed in place but it might mean that the whole worktop needs replacing

You ll need to disconnect hot and cold water supplies, which hopefully have shut off valves on/nr the flexible tails... if they don't then you'll need to know how to do this for your particular water system.

Remove shelves etc, Sink will be held down by metal clips or even bolted to wall.

If you do it yourself, make sure you seal the new sink to the work surface & use ptfe tape on the main waste thread on sink fitting, common place for leaks, don't over tighten tails into the tap/taps.

You sound knowledgable @GPTec1 do you know how to replace the silicone on an undermount sink? I need to replace mine as it's gone mouldy but it's such a fiddly space to pull out old silicone.

Thank you @GPTec1 , I don't feel I could manage it myself, but good to know it could be done.

Can you lift the sink at all? You could try a silicon remover and/or very thin knife? you need to remove it all or the mould will re appear, once you start, it normally just all pulls out if its silicon.

Use a de greaser, like meths and let it dry before applying the new silicon (with anti mould additives) over fill the gap, spray with a soapy water solution and use a moulding tool to remover excess.

Have a look on Youtube, loads of decent videos.

This video makes it look easy😀

The important bit is to get one the exact size as they will have laser measured your current sink exactly to fit the quartz worktop.
