Best value way to update downstairs WC

We’ve got an avocado suite still (I know), the floor needs doing and everything else really. Apart from getting the toilet and cistern changed by professional, I’d like yo update the rest myself to save money .

Any tips please?

Just remembered there a bit of plasterboard missing in the ceiling from when we had a leak in the upstairs bathroom hm just before Christmas. We’ll need a professional for that too.

Very interesting ideas! I was sure the suite was going but now I’m leaning towards just sprucing up and fixing the ceiling.

I do love colour so I match the avocado, somehow
