Attached a pic. Can't afford to remove it, so do you have any ideas to make it look less...like it looks?

This company does lots of nice stick on tiles.

Great job @Seasider2017 - looks like a completely different fireplace

Paint tiles dark grey and add fairy lights. Those tiles give me nightmares as I’m stood on them now in my kitchen.

Spray tiles black. Paint white surround a colour the compliments your decor.

This.
Then re black the stove and fill it with fairy lights. Oh and get rid if the sign and all the leads, plugs etc.

Maybe take the sticker off and move all the plugs, that would improve its appearance a great deal.

this

WonderingWanda · 09/01/2023 18:48

Agree, get rid if the cables, if you need to get them up to the mantle then do it neatly by pining them round the outside of the fire place. Get rid of the sign. Put some led candles or lights inside it. Put a tray of candles on top. You could paint the tiles or use stick on tiles and you could paint the wood burner a lighter or neutral colour like grey so it doesn't jump out at you quite as much.

KnickerlessParsons · 09/01/2023 19:25

Has the stove been condemned? Because if it has, you aren't allowed to take the sticker off. You could put something on top of it though.

I like the suggestion of painting the whole thing black and polishing up the stove. Some pot plants (real or fake) either side/on top of the stove.

Flameshame · 09/01/2023 19:29

Paint the tiles, cover up the sticker, remove the plugs. It’s not really a tricky one is it?

RinklyRomaine · 09/01/2023 19:41

Put a tray of candles or a succulent tray or similar over the sign. I wouldn't paint the tiles, though. Paint the surround a deep colour to suit whatever is in your bedroom, or black, and colour the grout black. Give the tiles a scrub first.

bellac11 · 09/01/2023 19:42

The ugly thing is all the wires and the plug socket

Yellownotblue · 09/01/2023 23:39

Once you’ve removed the wires and sign, depending on your style:

MyCreation · 09/01/2023 23:41

A picture of the whole fireplace would help get a better idea of what you are dealing with.

MrsSkylerWhite · 09/01/2023 23:44

Stack a load of logs in front of it, up to mantelpiece height, and put a few pillar candles in front of them if there’s room.

DillDanding · 09/01/2023 23:50

I am intrigued by the sticker. Why is it there?

as other have said, remove cables, weird sticker and get some adhesive tiles. It’s not terrible - you can make a feature of it.

RM2013 · 10/01/2023 00:12

As others have suggested I’d remove the stickers, wires etc and paint the terra-cotta tiles

greeneggsnspam · 10/01/2023 11:12

Thanks everyone for the suggestions - I've ordered some stick-on tiles (www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08MD73KDK/) and I'll put some candles and plants on top

I'll also take the sticker and wires 😂

Fladdermus · 31/01/2023 17:26

Wow! What a transformation. That looks amazing.

Giggorata · 31/01/2023 17:35

You have done a fabulous job!

I just wanted to add that it is possible to create some great fake glowing embers with red led fairy lights on a base, apply spray foam so that it doesn’t cover all the lights and then spray it patchily in matt black paint after it has hardened, so you get a grey and black effect, like glowing ashes.
This will look great in your stove and add a cosy touch.

OnMyWayToSenility · 31/01/2023 17:39

You could put some battery operated tea light/candles inside for a warm effect

Looks fantastic btw
