Ikea kitchens - bodarp is it green or grey?

In the pictures it looks very green, I can't get to see it for a few weeks but I am keen on the recycled-ness of them as well as the green-ness

Is it all greenwashing or is it actually a safe used of recycled plastic & does it feel nice?

It's green. It's really nice, but I know 3 couples who have installed one in the last 2 years, so it risks being 'that ikea kitchen' and instantly recognisable as such.
Depends if that bothers you. I have an ikea kitchen so no snobbery here! I think it's a shame it's not offered in alternative colours though to mix it up (or at least it wasn't when I looked in 2021.)

I also like frojered but bamboo can be problematical

Not too worried about being part of the herd but how it feels is vital

Anyone else? It seems to be popular so I'm hoping for more reviews 😉

We have it, it is definitely green rather than grey. It looks nice - we went for bronze coloured handles from ikea, black cabinets and a grey marble effect worksurface (not ikea). Our old kitchen was literally falling apart so it’s a huge improvement. In terms of how it feels, it’s smooth but not shiny and seems to be easy to wipe clean.

We are just refitting our kitchen with the IKEA enkoping range. It’s looking lovely. We installed an ikea kitchen in our last house and it was still looking good after 15 years when we moved out. We haven’t bought their handles, sinks, taps, worktops etc so can’t comment on those, just the units.

If you want to see the colour you could order a drawer front or whatever’s the cheapest part of the kitchen and delivery is £4. You can then return it for a refund.

I'm glad it's not shiny @Churchillian it sounds lovely with bronze- not really sure what we are planning yet accessory/handlewise

The frotjerd handle worrying as it could get difficult to clean

Shhh @Girlattheback I wasn't going to tell DH about ordering a door!

This will be the 2nd or 3rd ikea kitchen we have had, I do like them

OP did you ever get your BODARP kitchen? Are you happy with it? We just installed one and are really pissed off by the constant staining around drawer handles that won’t wipe off. Our hands are clean and dry yet it still marks. It’s such a fussy kitchen to keep clean. So disappointed, I don’t think it’s fit for purpose. Would love to know what you think of yours.

spitefulandbadgrammar · 24/09/2023 11:37

@IlkaDoxie I’m not the OP but had the same issue! It was a lovely kitchen when installed but the finger marks drove me bananas and were near impossible to get rid! We spent hours scrubbing it for photos and viewings when we sold and even then they were blindingly obvious. It just looked constantly minging: top level fingerprints, preschooler level fingerprints, toddler level hand prints… aaargh.

RaisinforBeing · 24/09/2023 11:59

We’ve got that kitchen and have the same issue. I find it’s like cleaning glass, you have to use a degreaser cleanser then dry it completely straight after. Total pita though :(. A bit on the dishwasher has warped aswell.

Thanks for sharing! If enough people are experiencing the same thing then Ikea has a faulty product on its hands. My husband says it's not even possible to repaint it in something durable as no product will adhere to the plastic.

I know it's a first world problem but I don't think Ikea should be selling it in its current state. I'm going to try and approach them and will report back if I hear anything. 🙏
