Has anyone sourced wooden drawers for DIYkitchen units? I would like them for a breakfast pantry similar to the first pic but can only see drawers like the second pic on their website.

No but they may do them on their premium ranges.

However, what we did do was mix and match a shaker kitchen from DIY kitchens with a statement freestanding larder from Cotswold Co with wooden shelves and drawers etc. Looks great.

Thank you, that’s a good idea - currently thinking of having the breakfast pantry next to the other units in seamless way so it will prob need to come from the same kitchen company.
May use your idea for a drinks cabinet, if we have any money left!

Anyone else managed to order wooden internal drawers from elsewhere that fit DIYkitchens? Or are they standard size and can be ordered easily?

Hafele or Pineland, I saw these mentioned on the Facebook DIY kitchens group the other day

Thank you @broomers - that’s very helpful, I will check them out

Not exactly what you’re asking, but I achieved a similar look with a DIY kitchen by buying an actual drawer unit (that you’d use in your main kitchen) but at the shallower depth, and my fitter secured it inside the bottom of the larder unit!

If you imagine I’d left the larder doors open like your picture, my drawer fronts match the the rest of my kitchen units.

From memory I had to compromise on number of drawers due to configurations available to chose from in the reduced depth range (5 “thinner” drawers when I’d have preferred 3 like your pic) but it has worked out well.

The shelf fixings are moveable so I have a “shelf” directly on top of the drawers, as well as 3 more above that 1.

Hopefully you can picture what I mean. Love my larder 😊

Try Handmade Kitchens of Christchurch. They have similar looking drawers.

@MrsKipling16 - I want that “love my larder” feeling! Would you consider DMing me a photo? Totally understand if you prefer not to.

Thank you @Oliveandbay , I will check them out, too

I saw this thread on the Facebook group too. Someone from DIY Kitchens replied and said they will provide wooden drawer boxes for their in-frame ranges only if you request it via their sales team, but not for the pan drawers.

@iwantabreakfastpantry - I’ve tried to DM you a couple of pictures, but unfortunately can’t figure out how to attach them on the iPad - apologies 🤦🏽‍♀️

iwantabreakfastpantry · 13/01/2023 07:29

Thank you for trying @MrsKipling16 (and for the DM)!

I bought pre made wood drawers from Probox (their ready to go range) and am happy with them. I have used them for a built in desk rather than a kitchen but I don’t see why you couldn’t use them for a larder cupboard assuming the sizes work.

It says on their website which brands of runner their drawers work with, and what thickness cabinet carcass they fit (18mm), so you’d need to check these with DIY. Or if the larder wouldn’t come with runners from DIY, then you could buy compatible runners and ask your kitchen fitter to fit them. But still need to check the carcass thickness.

There are other similar companies out there if this one doesn’t work. Or this company can also make bespoke drawers but guessing it’s rather more £££

@iwantabreakfastpantry - here you go, have hopefully managed to attach them here (seems there’s intentionally no functionality to be able to DM photos on Mumsnet!)

@MrsKipling16 - oh that’s very clever! Thanks so much for taking the time to post the pics
