Heated Towel Rail

Would you be able to live with the location of this Electric Heated Towel Rail? There is no-where else it can go and is the only source of heat in the room but it's behind the door and door now won't open fully. Joiner has just fitted it and says he will remove it but thinks it would be silly to remove it. Be nice to get some opinions ..Thanks

We have the same set up, doesn't cause a problem. The fitter put a little door stop at the widest angle the door can get to before it hits the rail. I'd say our door opens 90% of the way, which is plenty for access

Exactly where ours is. It works fine

Igmum · 06/01/2023 09:48

Ours is there too. The door can nearly open fully. Never been an issue

tensmumm · 06/01/2023 09:48

You can flip the opening, it's what we did.

It would annoy me a bit but not as much as having no towel rail (having only just acquired one). I'd reverse the door as suggested above or learn to live with it, unless you have someone with a disability at home who's going to be seriously inconvenienced or endangered.

Talipesmum · 06/01/2023 09:54

Looks fine, though as others have said, would having the door opening either from the other side or out into the hall work better?

Reallybadidea · 06/01/2023 09:59

It would annoy me. Would the door open more fully if you change it to opening on the right rather than left? Or into the room/hallway as others have said.

Our set up is the same, except the door opens on the bath side. It drives me mad! Door hitting bath is really loud 😫 I'd be happy for it to open to the towel rail side.

We had a similar problem with the door opening onto the shower cubicle . We did put a doorstop on the floor so it didn't keep hitting it but eventually we had the door rehung to open outwards . Its made such a difference.

trampoline123 · 06/01/2023 10:38

Ours is there but the door opens the other way.

I don't think it would bother me not to be able to fully open the door though, ours are never fully open in any room actually.

I have the same set up. But with a radiator instead. Though I would like to replace for a heated towel rail.
