Fridge problem

Our Beko fridge freezer has suddenly started icing up on the inside back wall of the fridge part. It was on 3 temperature but we’ve turn down to 2 with no change. We removed the ice and it’s back within a few hours. The ice is in a rectangular panel shape - it doesn’t ice up lower down the fridge. Any ideas?

Is the back clear of the wall?

10 cm gap x

You could have dust build up in the rear vents or a broken door seal , is it very old ?

Liveonmars · 05/01/2023 08:04

It’s 10 years old. The other thing I realised this morning, it periodically makes a sound (like a cow moo - it’s a thing with Beko fridges apparently) and that isn’t happening now. Wonder if something that regulates temperature has failed. Back looks ok - no dust build up x

Is there a drain hole somewhere that’s got blocked?

picklemewalnuts · 05/01/2023 08:13

Have you tried turning it up to 5? Just thinking that making it colder will make it work harder, and it's already colder than you want.

picklemewalnuts · 05/01/2023 08:14

Oh wait, perhaps you don't mean degrees. My FF is controlled by degrees, not the 1-5 wheel.

Thanks for your replies. Drain hole was blocked a few days ago (covered with cherry tomato!) but clearing this and de-icing didn’t work.

Try turning off for an hour or two. As it might have been triggered by the tomato blockage, this could help it reset. However, I'd be prepared that it is beyond reasonable repair.
