Where did you get yours? Budget is tight as I need 4 so £50 each? My spec is quite high 😭
I'm so scared to make a mistake.

I bought mine from Lakeland Furniture, I can't remember exactly what I paid but around that figure. They've lasted 4 years with daily use and still look brand new.

Ours were about £100 (but only 2 of them!) from here

Ours are from Dunelm. Wooden, wide, square seat, decent back support. I love them! They're about £62 each at the moment.

We got ours from eBay. The best advice I can give is to to Google the proper height needed for kitchen islands/worktops. Many kitchen stools are actually designed for bars and are too high!

Monty27 · 31/12/2022 05:13

The seat needs to be 70cm high I've had so many in my basket and just about to pay when I've realised they're too short arghh! Wayfair John Lewis IKEA and even Argos to name but a few 😭
I moved into my new house 6 weeks ago and broke my hand (tripped whilst out shopping won't do the details) and now family are coming from another country for our bils funeral and I don't even have a sofa yet either

65 to 75 should be fine for normal kitchen counter height. We struggled to find nice stools that weren't meant for a commercial bar heights!

We got our first ones from Argos:

I thought they were great for the price paid and lasted ages... DH didn't like them though which is the only reason we don't still have them.

Buy something that’s ok, works for price and can use this visit with family coming. Worst case you don’t like them as much as can change a few years down the line.

Saw some decent ones more a country style with neutral fabric at £50 down from £100 in the range

We had some a bit like that but what I disliked was the base. They seemed to tip up easier especially if kids are getting off and put their weight on one side as they start to dismount. Get one with 4 legs OP.

About 6/7 years ago we bought ours after doing a kitchen extension and we ran way over budget and instead of having money tk spend at the end we had to really cut corners with a few things, one of which being Island stools.
we bought some padded leather looking ones from Tesco for about £50 and I shit you not they have been the most comfortable bar stools I’ve ever sat on. Lots of our friends have done similar and spent way more on theirs but seriously ours are so much more comfortable than any of the more expensive ones.
They are sadly now looking rather tired and won’t last this next year so we’re looking to replace them but I’ll be looking at tescos again!
