Restoring terracotta floor

We have bought an old house which has a very old traditional terracotta floor. We would love to keep this but it needs restored. Some broken ones we can replace but the others we want to keep. Does anyone have any advice on restoring old tiles?

Thanks in advance

I think you need one of those rotating floor machines that you can hire. They have different grades of pads that fit on the bottom for cleaning & polishing. After that you might need to seal them to stop them getting dirty again. However, I'd caveat that by saying I don't know what yours are laid on (some are laid onto bare earth).
