Venting hobs

I am currently designing my kitchen extension and looking at recirculating venting hobs as the hob will likely need to go into the island. Does anyone have a venting hob? How do you find it? What kind of unit do you have it fitted over? Do they fit above a drawer unit? Any insights appreciated!

Looked to get one when last hob died but was going to be too difficult to retrofit, the filter drops down to behind the plinth and vents back into kitchen there. The model we were looking at would have meant we could only have max 40cm depth drawers.
With a new install it will be a lot easier and some newer models probably have better vent options. This was the installation picture of the AEG one we looked at

You used the word "recirculating"

So it will not remove any steam, and it will not create any suction to prevent the air in the kitchen diffusing through the house.

You are spending a great deal of effort and money and not getting an extractor.

I know they are not as effective as one that extracts outside, but details of products say they do reduce moisture.

That 's curious.

Do they say where this moisture goes, when the fan just blows it back into the room?

We’ve got a neff one that vents outside, duct under the floor from island. It takes up a fair amount of space underneath. We put a cupboard under it. Our kitchen fitter was very much of the view that you could just open a window instead….

I have a Elica Tesla and it's brilliant.

We have the Neff model and were very cynical about it. However it works really well and better than the Neff island overhead hood we had before. In our case the ceiling height meant that extracting upwards is tricky.
we have normal pan drawers but circulate out a cavity in the middle of the island and out at the foot kicker board.

The Elica Tesla has the option to extract outside through a duct.

Recirculating steam and blowing it back into the room is no help.
