How do I find the engineer’s code for my Pyronix burglar alarm?

I need to change the code on my burglar alarm but the system wasn’t installed by me and so I have no idea what the “engineer’s code” is. Local alarm firms want me to pay £120 just to change the code! Does anyone have a solution please?

I don't know but probably you can't.

For DIY-level alarms, you can probably get hold of the i stallation instructions which will probably tell you how to do a factory reset, and what the default code is. For professional alarms they try not to make information publicly available. You could try 00000, 12345, 99999 just in case.

If you pay to have it changed, specify before they start work what you want the code to be, and test that it works before you pay them. It is very annoying if you have to pay again in a year or two.

Write it down in the hidden book where you keep your passwords. Not the same book where you keep your usernames.

We have a pyronix alarm, you can DM me for the default engineer's code. There is however no guarantee that the installer did not change the engineer's code on install.

My installer did this then refused to give it to me, which pissed me right off. I paid for the bloody system, I want ALL codes. Had to threaten him with legal action to get it off him after he refused but also couldn't come out to fix it for 6 months!!
